That's right! I'm offering more goodies for you today. This week's new releases in the shop are mostly older items from my time at {we are} storytellers, though I've freshened some of them up a bit. Keep in mind that all new releases are 30% off for the first 24 hours, so if you see something you like, remember that these low prices won't stick around all week. If you want to take your chances on winning some product for free, stick around until the end of this post, and I'll tell you how to win.
Today I want to give away two products of your choice from these new releases to three random readers.
To qualify, here's what you need to do: leave me a comment and tell me how you scrap the topic of school. Do your school pages go in your regular album? Do you do a school year-in-review page? Do you only hit the high points (and what are they?) Comments will be open until midnight Friday night (that's EST) and then I'll use my random number generator to choose three numbers. I'll send your download links on Sunday.
I admit it, I don't do school pages. I did for the first few elementary years, when there were all sorts of cute activities and events. But there are no photos from junior high and I can't say that's not a good thing :-)
So anyways, I do sports layouts, but no regular school layouts.

With no kiddos, I don't really do a lot of school layouts. I organize my layouts my calendar year chronilogically, so I think I would just mix the school layouts in. Might be cool to do a album of just school photos for an older child though or my old ones.

I have to admit that I did not do any album so far :(( So all my pages are going separately by time and topic.
Thank you for the chance to have these gorgeous items of yours!

No school albums (that's what yearbooks are for!) but I do pages about their first day of school, concerts, field trips or anything else that stands out.

I started an elementary album, but I never made it past Kindergarten. LOL Right now, most of Cassidys school pages are sports-themed pages.

Ive seen a couple of great pages where scrappers have taken all their school photos and done a two-page spread, Lori. Sounds similar to what you suggested.

Youre welcome, Natalia!

I keep a school year album for my now 6th grader (although it is only done through 4th grade). It contains typically 4-8 pages per year. One featuring their school picture, a few pages of the year highlights and with friends, a page containing either a collage or minibook of some of her work I've scanned in, and finally I usually turn the class picture into a pocket page to stick the concert programs and teacher reports in. I hope to finish 5th grade before she is done with 6th! Got to have goals.

with no kids, I plan to scrap my own school years (from the far distant past). I already have one 'official' page with the school photo from each year. I plan the rest to be a mix of photos of crazy friends, silly notes we passed each other and scans of the covers of my workbooks.

Hannah, do you think youll follow a set format for each spread, or just scrap them however you feel like doing it for each page?

I always scrap the 1st day of school and then I create highlight pages along the way. I do not do many school pages, but I recently started homeschooling so my pages will look a little more "homey" since there will be no buses to ride or classrooms filled with manipulatives. BUT there will be a lot more field trip pages as we will go on many. I don't know why it is called homeschool when we are rarely home!! Thanks for this opportunity! I love your products! -Amy or amallory in the DHD gallery

My son isn't in school yet, but I've scrapped some of my school photos (K - 4th). In the text I wrote about the memories I have of that particular year - the teacher, the friends I had, the random memories that stick out in my mind.

I have two books, one for each child, where I put most of the school layouts. Each child also has their own scrapbooks that I put random stuff in and it also includes some school stuff that is with their friends. The main thing is so each child has their own books that they will not get until I am dead and gone - LOL!

Thanks for the chance to win!
I've actually NEVER done a school page. When my son starts school (in 5 years!) I'll probably just include those pages in his regular album.

I homeschool, and compile a portfolio for each child for their evaluations by our local principal. They are heavy on the journaling and field trip photos, but I do put in some ephemera and pretty paper - whatever it takes to keep me motivated.

I just record the low and high points of the year. I try and journal the important quotes courtesy of the children. I then put it in album reflective of the year. Then my pages sit along side the portfolios that summarise the schools accademic year.

I'm trying to make a mini album of each school year for my daughter, and a "school years album from pre-school to 8th) for my boys. This keeps things from getting boring and a lot easier to "catch-up" even though I'm still behind.
Love the new kits!

Audrey, are you going to release the School of Life coordinating elements?
Posted by: Lori Pickens | March 19, 2010 at 08:51 PM
I am going to work on a set of elements to go along with that paper pack. I dont really like all the elements I originally did with the kit, so Im going to come up with some new stuff. Hopefully that will be ready to release next week.
