I haven't done any knitting yet this winter, and I'm feeling the urge to get something -- okay, a scarf, most likely -- back on the needles. It's hard to balance that with the urge to constantly work on something, to get ahead or to get caught up.
January 23
A full day of competition: she stepped in as captain during the last few minutes of the championship quick recall match. She was surprised, but happy. They took home the first place trophy and medals as a result.
January 24
I don't think I've seen her this attached to any toy (except for Ducky, perhaps). Snuggling before bed required a story read in her best 'classroom teacher' voice.

An evening in Wrather Auditorium with YA author Chris Crutcher: a reminder of the importance of telling your own story and bringing your own kind of truth to the world. His own stories were proof that perhaps the ugliest stories need telling the most.
January 26
A trip to Bowling Green for work. A late lunch/early supper at Outback with bookstore browsing after. A surprise in this month's copy of Creating Keepsakes. Lazy TV watching in bed.

She prefers a bath to a shower, but doesn't usually get her choice. A lucky night for her, then.
