======================================================================================
The local fair has been going on all week; Wednesday night was the only night that we could all attend, so we loaded up and hit the midway. The girls weren't interested in seeing any of the events going on -- their attention was solely focused on the rides. So ride we did! (I say "we," when in all actuality, I only made it through two rides before bowing out. I'm such a wimp...)
The girls started with a quick race down the Fun Slide:
followed by a spin on the Berry-go-Round. Cass then talked me into riding the Ferris Wheel with her. This is a big deal, as I'm terrified of heights (see the above statement concerning my wimpiness). I was fine until we got stopped, rather roughly, right at the top and our chair proceeded to rock waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much for my liking. At some point, I'm pretty sure I could hear myself whimpering above the sound of Cassidy's laughter. She loved it, of course, and sported this face the whole time:
Once I made it back onto solid (and safe) ground, the girls took a quick spin on the swings, and then we all decided that the SeaRay would be a fun ride. By the time it was over, I think Chris was the only one of us still convinced it was a fun ride. (Here's a shot later in the evening):
At one point, I had my legs wedged up against the seat in front of me so hard that it left a mark; I was convinced that I was going to come out of my seat, otherwise. A girl on the other side -- across from us -- kept throwing her hands up in the air and even raising up out of her seat, and I could hear Cass yelling "Oh my god, what are you doing, you crazy girl? Sit down! PUT YOUR HANDS DOWN!!" At least, that's what I think she was saying -- I was too busy whimpering screaming loudly.
After that, I was definitely finished, but the girls were just getting started. The Alpine Bobs were next -- Cami was NOT a fan. Then they jumped on the bumper cars and took a ride on the RockinTug.
Cass wanted to ride the 1001 Nachts again -- last year it was her favorite ride, so this year Cami joined in. They actually ended up riding twice (though the second ride was spoiled by some kid puking all over himself); that pretty much did it for Chris, so he grabbed a funnel cake and some cotton candy while the girls rode the carousel one last time. Cami's face pretty much captures the whole night!
