When I had my CT call, I was so lucky to have a really incredible group of women apply for a position. Unfortunately, I couldn't accept everyone; however, a group of these women agreed to accept a one-month guest position with my team. Over the next few months, it will be my delightful honor to introduce these ladies to you.
May's Guest Scrapper is Sally Keller (also known as cellomom in the forums). I met Sally about a year ago, maybe a bit more, when I started selling my digital designs over at Oscraps, where Sally is one of the Cheeri-Os. I was so impressed with her dedication to the site and her beautiful personality -- she's very warm, very generous, and always in high spirits. Here's some more information about Sally, in her own words.
Here are some of Sally's beautiful layouts, created with my designs. (Click the layout to be taken to the {wst} gallery, where you can find out more about specific products and to leave Sally praise for her gorgeous work).
What is your favorite technique?
One of my favorite techniques in PSE is to create stickers from word art. I create a new layer underneath the layer of which I want to create the sticker. I then select the layer in the layers palette by click on the icon of the layer while holding down CTL. Then I go to the Menu>Select>Modify>Expand. Depending on the size of the wa, i usually choose a size between 10-20. Then I click on the bucket tool and make sure that my foreground color is white. I click inside the selected area with the bucket, creating a white base underneath the wa in the new layer. I then merge the two layers to create the sticker! Here's an example:
How do you describe your scrapping process?
My scrapping process can change from day to day! LOL!! First off, this year, I have embarked on a self-chosen challenge of scrapping at least one LO a day everyday! I recently even took my laptop camping with me so I wouldn't miss a day! Each day when I begin scrapping, I check my CT assignments first, then I decide if I want to take part in a challenge! If I'm just scrapping a fun quick page, I do a run in a gallery to find an inspirational LO to lift! Ohhh there are soo many inspirational LOs in the digital community!! AND in the paper community, too!! The fun for me is taking the best recent photos I have taken and creating art and memories with them on a daily basis!
Share one of your favorite journaling techniques with us.
One of my favorite journaling techniques is to use a conversation for the journaling!! My 7yo tends to say the funniest things!! I have to get them down on paper before I forget them. I used to have a "quote of the week." I may need to get back to that!!
Here are two examples:
Why do you scrapbook?
I scrapbook for two reasons: 1. to preserve memories of our everyday lives, first and foremost!
2. I LOVE to create. God, THE Creator, made me in His image. Creating is one of the most fulfilling processes in my life, whether it's writing music, scrapbooking, quilting, or even creating blog posts!! :)
Thanks for sharing your talent with the Audacious Designs team this month, Sally!
congrats to sally! great LOs.
