I'm sitting at the dining room table at my in-law's house, sipping a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows on top (it's become one of my new favorite things!) while Cass and Grandad watch Another Thin Man and Chris plays Dark Age of Camelot on his laptop. Cami is asleep, snuggled into sleeping bags with cousin Kendall, while Grandmother, Bill, Debbie, and Connor all sleep soundly in their respective beds. Outside, I can hear fireworks in the neighborhood as everyone celebrates the beginning of a new year.
I've been enjoying all kinds of reflective posts from a number of blogs that I read regularly, and part of me really wanted to do something commemorative in this space as well. But that just wasn't in the cards for me. This has been such a busy week for us, busier than the week leading up to Christmas, to be honest; the past couple of days have been especially busy for me, as I've been frantically working on this:

Thank you all so much for the kind words of support you've shown me during this new endeavor; I'm so excited to be designing again. This really feels like a good place for me, and my notebook is bulging with all kinds of new ideas. I will definitely have to get busy and create a new little work area at home.
