Apologies for the long hiatus. To be honest, this break was much-needed, as life has been nonstop recently. I wish I could say it shows signs of slowing down soon, but I'd be lying if I did. So it's time to jump back into things feet-first; we'll see what happens.
I'm really excited about our upcoming challenges, because I have a number of my favorite scrappers creating sample layouts; I know you are going to love them too and be super inspired by their work.
For challenge #8, I asked three scrappers to create layouts with a title created from unusual items.
Lisa Dickinson created a gorgeous layout in celebration of her anniversary. To create her lovely title, she lightly wrote her title on the cardstock in pencil, then traced over it with glue and pressed the baker's twine into the glue until dry. Offset stamping finishes the title and the patterned paper hearts just make me smile.
Valorie Wibbens put together this awesome layout, using a mix of several different items to create her title. This eclectic look not only works fabulously with the message of her layout, but it's a great design element in and of itself (which is what these challenges are all about -- using your letters and words as both a way to tell stories and a way to embellish your layouts).
So there you have it: three fantastic layouts, each with a title created with unusual items. Ready to play along?
To participate this week, just do the following:
1. Create a layout with a title created from unique items.
2. Post your layout in a gallery or on your blog.
3. Leave a comment on this thread, linking to your layout.
Layouts are due by midnight EST, Friday, August 21st, 2009.
