As I was working on Cami's scarf last night, she commented that it was her favorite thing ever, and that got me to thinking about the "favorite things" that I've surrounded myself with. I thought it might be fun to make a quick little blog post about them -- and to invite you to participate as well! I'll start.
1. This soap is the most wonderful stuff ever made, I think. I find excuses to go wash my hands, just so that I can use it. I love the combination of the honey and the orange blossoms, and it is really moisturizing. I'm constantly on the lookout for other skincare products that combine oranges and honey, so if you know of any, let me know, ok?
2. This blanket. It's the comforter that my mom bought for my bed (a cherry Jenny Lind twin bed) when I was only four or five, which means this blanket is 30 years old. I think she bought it at JC Penney's or something like that; of course, the pink and green and orange color scheme doesn't match anything in my living room, but I keep it on the couch or on my recliner because it is the PERFECT blanket for snuggling under while reading or watching movies or knitting. At first I was a little put off because it didn't really "go" with anything, but then I decided, you know what? I don't care. I love it, we use it constantly, it's part of what makes home home.
3. This poem. While I love the whole thing, I am particularly drawn to the last part. Someone sent it to me after my father died, and it really resonated with me and brought me a lot of peace. In fact, I liked it so much that I created a quick little art piece to go in my bedroom -- just freehand images in acrylic paint on a canvas, with alphabet stamps for the lettering.
So there you go -- three quick things that I love right now. What about you? Link me up in the comments to one thing that you are just loving right now, and I'll pick one winner for a fun little RAK.
